FAQ

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based in South Jordan, Utah and will travel up to half an hour for no extra cost. I will travel to nearby counties (North Salt Lake, Davis, Utah) typically for an additional $25 per hour of drive time. Please contact me for a quote for other destinations.

Do you have a studio?

The world is my studio! I am a natural light photographer which means your session will be shot outside when there is sunlight, typically during the late afternoon and evening hours. But early morning hours are an option too.

How many pictures will I get?

The amount of pictures depends on how many people are being photographed, the types of pictures you are wanting, and how long we spend together. A typical one hour session will result in around 50 quality photos but can easily be more than 100. If getting lots of pictures is overwhelming to you and you just want the "best" ones and less choices, please make sure to communicate that to me and I can minimize the amount for you. As a mom and photo lover myself, I like having choices, so I tend to send lots of choices in your finished gallery for you to choose your own favorites.

when and how will i receive my pictures?

You will receive a personal online gallery and a download code within 1 to 2 weeks of your session. Sometimes within days, depending on the season you are photographed. You will have the option to download the entire gallery or individual photos and will also be able to choose the resolution quality. A smaller resolution/size (recommended for online sharing or digital viewing only) or a larger high-quality size (recommended for printing). You will also receive a personal use release so you can save, print or share your photos as desired.

What if the weather turns bad after I schedule?

It definitely happens! We will do our best to schedule a time that works for both you and the weather. :) But when the unexpected happens, we don't want you to be miserable in your pictures and will decide whether to proceed as planned or reschedule.

Do you do large groups?

No, I do not do extended family photo sessions, events or other large groups.

What should we wear?

Most importantly, you want to look good and feel good. Seems simple enough but can easily feel overwhelming, I know. You will like the pictures more if you like what you are wearing and it feels like 'you.'

Five main things to keep in mind:
1) Consider your vibe. Pick a color scheme or mood to coordinate so no one clashes or stands out in a bad way. A really nice look is mixing solids, prints, and textures among your family members.
2) Consider the location. Will the colors you are wearing compliment your surroundings, pop off the background or fade away in the scenery.
3) Consider the weather. You want to be comfortable.
4) Consider your family. Don't force them to wear something they hate. Find that happy medium between individuality and cooperation.
5) Relax and have fun with it. Remember this is just a snapshot in time of your life and in the long run, you will mostly be looking back on the faces you love and how they change.
